The 'Clay Together' exhibition illustrates a paracosm of stars to tell the tale of imagination towards the stars and the sky. It is a continuation of the previous exhibition 'Our Starry Sky', which take place from September 2023 to March 2024.
Using ceramics as the common language, Ci-fu Jai (St. James’ Creation Ceramist) collaborates with overseas artists to tell the story of one’s unique sky through ceramic works. A set of furniture is designed and used to display collaborative artworks at every corner of Kennedy Town, embodying stars in various forms and integrating them into the community, leaving behind traces waiting to be discovered.
The curatorial team, with ceramists and artists, presents the stories of “If I Were a Star...” to the public, inviting them to share their own starry skies. Despite viewing the same artwork in the same community, each person may have a different story and imagination.
The 'Clay Together' seeks a second form for artworks, highlighting the transition from imagination and sharing the sky to owning and continuing stories. These ceramic artworks are worth much beyond mere observation, and become a catalyst for inspiration and dialogue with oneself and companions.
